early morning you tubing brought this snippet. Almost made me tear up.
ohh, can’t wait for this episode in preparation for Channuka. Repeat to self, December 4th, December 4th
Bagels, Carrot Cake, Chocolate cake and more…..on loan from a friend.
don’t think this makes me an a pure blood Australian
Comes on almost the same time as it plays in the states
Sweet orange oil from here
I had a beautiful pair of Mary Janes from Argentina, but wore them so often the heel split in half. My cobbler, Joe, said there was nothing he could do, this was after he had fixed (superglued?) them together once already.
note to anyone traveling to Argentina here, also Tosone (especially shoe 7043a from the summer collection, the winter collection has a lot of beautiful boots, but I really don’t need any more of those, then again I probably don’t need any more shoes at all….)
also interesting Argentinia fashion feedback
Can’t find a link to my other favorite store in Argentina, Prune. ohh, here
This beautiful package lead to spontaneous singing in our household. Thank you so much Danit, always so thoughtful and with perfect timing. Now, to figure out when the first night of Channuka is…..
On a side note, I have never had a package not opened by Australian Quarantine. What do they think is inside? Did they steal any of my gelt?
First this breakfast, a bit heavy on the Vegemite.
Then, this, two weeks worth…
Finally some relaxing time in the Sendiks of Sydney.
Now the roast(lamb shoulder) is in the oven. A long, but satisfying day.
A list of top why I love living here.
1. Lucas’ PawPaw Ointment- okay, so this isn’t food really, but this stuff heals all and does all…lip balm,, protects scars, and best of all it’s anti-bacterial and anti-itch
2. Luneburger Germany Bakery- I can’t go past this place without picking up at least half a loaf of Pumpkin seed bread. They sell by the half loaf! They also have beautiful hazelnut croissants and an ever changing array of devious cakes and pastries.
3. Vegemite – I absolutely love the salty, earthy flavor on wheat toast or homemade bagels.
4. The carton of beer over the shoulder phenomenon. An Australian goes to the liquor store and buys 24 beers in a box, a fairly regular occurance. He will then without a doubt throw it over his shoulder and walk it where ever it needs to go. An Americans would use a shopping cart. Like this guy but instead of whatever beer he has, Toohey’s New
5. Pavlova – A delicious concoction of mereinge, cream and fruit.
I guess a good a title as any. My first test post. Let’s see if this works before we continue.
